On 3 July 1895 at Peterhof was born Irina, Princess of the Imperial Blood, daughter of Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich and Grand Duchess Xenia. Princess Irina's father was a grandson of Nicholas I through the latter's youngest son, her mother a sister of Nicholas II. In 1914 Irina Alexandrovna married Prince Felix Yusupov, Count Sumarokov-Elston, and the couple were wed in the church of the Anichkov Palace. By marrying a man not of royal blood, Irina signed a renunciation of her rights to the throne. The Yusupovs left Russia in 1919 during the Crimean evacuation aboard the British liner Malborough, and lived in France for the rest of their days; Irina Alexandrovna died in 1970. Irina and Felix had one daughter, Irina Yusupova.
