In view of the fact that "Zoyka's Apartment" is the principal source of livelihood for the Vakhtangov Theatre, to permit the temporary lifting of the ban on its production

At the beginning of 1928 the new head of the Main Repertory Committee (Glavrepertkom), Fyodor Raskolnikov, struck the play from the theatre's repertoire on his own initiative.

In April 1928 the play was restored to the theatre's stage. But its life was short: on 17 March 1929 "Zoyka's Apartment" was withdrawn for good by decision of the Main Repertory Committee, confirmed by the board of the People's Commissariat for Education "for distortion of Soviet reality".

Since the day of its premiere on 28 October 1926 the play had been performed 198 times
