The 1778 print “Miss Wicket and Miss Trigger” on cricket and hunting

Colour print of a lady in a yellow dress with a cricket bat and a lady in a dark coat with a gun and game bird, with dogs beside them.

1778. Two unmarried ladies with telling surnames, Wicket (the hoop at the crease in cricket) and Trigger (the firing mechanism of a gun), boast of a good game and a successful hunt. The caption reads “effeminacy”. Why not?
