Rybinsk authorities require historical-style shop signs in the city centre
I know Varlamov wrote about this. Still, it is a handsome idea, if a rather ambiguous one. The administration of Rybinsk, in the Yaroslavl Region, has ordered that signboards in the historic part of the town be made in a "historical" style, and plastic is apparently banned as well. As for the possibility that the maker of these signboards may turn out to be a monopolist, that is another conversation altogether. Photos by Konstantin Matveyev and Twitter users
