The Museum of Architecture opens “The Fifth Wave”, an exhibition of artists who left Russia

In the enfilade of the main building of the Museum of Architecture, an exhibition has opened that continues my beloved 2020 Garage Triennial of Contemporary Art. If you remember, the selection of works for the 2nd Triennial at Garage was built on recommendations from artists who had taken part in the 1st Triennial. Ivan Novikov proposed altering the mechanism slightly: he put forward several artists at once, all of whom left Russia at various times and are therefore little known to the Russian viewer: Alexandra Anikina, Natalya Grezina, Olga Grotova, Yevgeny Dedov, Elizaveta Konovalova, Margarita Maksimova, Angelina Merenkova, Ivan Murzin, Yana Smetanina, Igor Shuklin, Ekaterina Vasilyeva. Thus was born "The Fifth Wave", which opened today at MUAR.
