In 2007 Helen Mirren, born Elena Lydia Vasilyevna Mironova, visited Russia and found her cousins and other relatives

Her grandmother was Countess Lydia Andreyevna Kamenskaya, her grandfather Colonel Pyotr Vasilyevich Mironov. Helen's father arrived in Great Britain at the age of two. In Russia her grandfather had left behind six sisters and other kin.

When Mirren visited Russia, she managed to track down relatives, to see the sites of the former family estates and the grave where members of her grandfather's family are buried (he died in Great Britain in 1957 and is buried there, but the relatives added his name to the plaque on the family gravestone).
