In 1972, at Documenta 5, the group Haus-Rucker-Co hung a transparent bubble with a palm tree inside out of a window of the Fridericianum and called it an oasis. This came two years after Verner Panton had upholstered an entire room in foam and abolished the distinction between floor, wall and furniture. Artists have long been musing that a house ought not to be solid.

At this year's young art fair, blazar, there is an object that only at first glance reads as a reference to something along the lines of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Together with the artist Varya Cheltsova, in the design section, the brand Lamoda home has built a soft house called "Where Dreams Live". From the outside it looks like a quilted cloud traced with a black line; inside, animated projections of that same drawing move across the fabric.

For Lamoda home the artist made a print assembled according to the logic of a dream: recognisable creatures and plots that do not add up to a single story but assemble themselves differently for each viewer.

Moreover, the print lives not only in the installation: it has passed into a limited collection of satin bed linen in one hundred per cent cotton, available only on Lamoda. The design object can be photographed at the fair, while a part of it can be taken home and slept on. It remains to be established whether, by this logic, bed linen becomes a surface bearing an authorial statement, or stays a household item with an amusing print.
