Late 19th century anti-masturbation belt with a tricky lock and leather lining

This is what a genuine anti-masturbation belt of the late nineteenth century looks like. Well worn, of course, the little thing has seen better days.

The metal base of the belt is mounted on a leather lining for ease of wear. As you can see, it is fitted with a so-called cunning lock, and opening it is no simple task. Since the lock cannot be forced by pressure on the clasp, by pulling, or by shifting the tumbler, experts recommend resorting to a powerful magnet and a sharp blow. So the victim of this contraption evidently had a very hard time of it.

For those who are interested, a similar lock turned up on ebay for only £50
