Photographed beside Leonid Sokov's "Levitan" at the Catalog contemporary art fair on preview day. To be honest, on leaving the house I recalled a selection of looks from a men's fashion public page and hastily assembled an outfit to suit the mood of the day.
The day was very full, with a whole list of events, and, actively coaxing myself out of my Parisian sit-it-out, I tried to get the most out of the evening programme. So from the fair I have so far managed to put together only a small selection of works I liked, not all of which, alas, are within my means.
But in general I think more and more about the pointlessness of buying art, and even the harmfulness of the process, which turns creativity into a market substance. There is no need to buy anything. Art should be loved, known, looked at and remembered, not paid for with enormous sums merely to carry a physical object back to one's cave. At fairs and in museums art is open to all: please, look and receive your spiritual nourishment almost for free
