A large-scale exhibition, “Punk Culture. Korol i Shut”, has opened at Winzavod.

The display fills two halls and is divided into two parts: the first is about the birth of punk culture in the world (including several curious exhibits brought from private collections in London), the second is about the history of the band whose story was made into a series on a fresh wave of popularity.

On the whole, unless you can instantly recall the words of “Kukly kolduna” and the toilet of the CBGB club (recreated at the exhibition, incidentally), or if neither means anything to you, two hours will not be wasted. At the very least you will look, listen and touch: the exhibition is interactive, and there is a VR hall (which is simply a delight). At the very most you will learn a great deal that is new. The curatorial team includes many respected people, from the Hermitage researcher Vasily Uspensky to the music critic of Kommersant, Boris Barabanov.
