The Queen Mother's dolls' house from Glamis Castle in Scotland, the ancestral seat of the Earls of Strathmore, where Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the future wife of George VI and mother of Elizabeth II, spent her childhood

Inside the future Queen Mother's house there are two lived-in floors: a bedroom with a canopied bed and a marble fireplace, a state dining room with a laid table and a chandelier, and a drawing room with armchairs and a screen. The bedroom is a miniature copy of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon's own nursery.

The textile details, the embroidered bedspreads, fire screens, drapery and curtains, were made by Elizabeth's mother, Cecilia, Countess of Strathmore, who was known as a skilled embroiderer. Glamis holds a great many works by Cecilia Strathmore, as well as the embroidery of several generations of women of this family.
