It will be interesting to see it realised, but they say that building the "Cogwheel", the new Garage Museum pavilion in Gorky Park, will take 5 years. What interests me most is whether the cladding will be sheet metal, glass or some material of the Alucobond kind. For the realisation of the idea, the project of a renowned Japanese practice was chosen. Beneath the whole building there will be a functional floor with a large central pavilion.
A curious observation on the refraction of perception: although what is being recreated is a real, historically existing Soviet building, in roughly its original dimensions and forms, the moment you learn that a practice from Japan is behind it, you seem at once to detect in the model a certain Japanese palace-and-temple mood
