A photograph by Alexandr Kadochnikov that has gone viral: the dome of the Paveletskaya metro pavilion huddles in the embrace of the building at 43/16, Building 1, Novokuznetskaya. The pavilion itself occupies the ground floors of a house that was completed four years after the station was built. Most of the premises in the building are administrative and office space, home to Metrogiprotrans and various editorial offices, so one may breathe a sigh of relief: this tin-plated view of the crown of the dome, a floor and a half high, opens not from anyone's flat but from some office or other. Still, can you imagine what luck might have befallen the owners of property in the centre of Moscow?
