Five podcasts about Moscow to listen to while walking around the city

Share

A little more on the subject of podcasts: they really are universal, and can prove useful in the most varied circumstances. Here is a selection of podcasts to listen to on a walk.

For example, “A Walk around Moscow with Kazimir Malevich” invites you to go round the places where the artist studied and worked, and to see where the first exhibitions and gatherings of like-minded people were held.

An excellent podcast from “Architectural Excesses” is called “A Guide to Vanishing Moscow”. The title speaks for itself: here you will find a house from the early 19th century and an abandoned glassworks, as well as the Likhobory owl and a Gothic transformer substation.

A more classic option, for those who have not yet made the rounds of Moscow’s second-rank sights, is the podcast “Moscow with You”. Interesting houses, estates and streets that are not well known even to every Muscovite.

A surprisingly good podcast from “Radio 7 on Seven Hills”: more than 150 episodes, featuring both fairly familiar things and quite unexpected ones about Moscow.

And last on the list is the “Series of Urban Mono-Podcasts”. Only three have come out so far, but the undertaking is an interesting one, and I personally am eagerly awaiting its continuation. These are themed walks around Moscow with well-known guests. So far the architect Sergey Choban, the poetess Vera Polozkova and the musician Delfin have taken part in the recordings.

All these podcasts are easy to find on Yandex.Music, where they are most convenient to listen to.
