Safe unopened since 1917 in the Loan Treasury building in Nastasyinsky Lane, Moscow
The architect Dmitry Lurie relates that the Loan Treasury building of 1913-15 in Nastasyinsky Lane in Moscow has preserved a safe whose doors have stood unopened since 1917, so that, purely in theory, what lies inside is pre-revolutionary air. In Dmitry's photograph the marks left by attempts to break into the safe are plainly visible. Even if it is only a legend, it is a very amusing one
