In compiling its list of the 100 films of this century, the newspaper's editors polled more than 500 experts: directors, actors, critics, screenwriters and other members of the industry. Each of them was asked to name the 10 best films of the 21st century. The final ranking was drawn up on the basis of how often particular pictures appeared in the individual lists.
