Le Budapest d'aujourd'hui conserve deux amphithéâtres romains antiques : l'amphithéâtre civil et l'amphithéâtre militaire d'Aquincum. Le premier pouvait accueillir jusqu'à 6 000 spectateurs, le second 12 000.
