# Golda Meir reprochait à Kissinger un soutien insuffisant à Israël en 1973

En 1973, pendant la guerre du Kippour, Golda Meir reprochait à Henry Kissinger de ne pas soutenir Israël assez fermement, alors même qu'il pratique le judaïsme. Kissinger lui écrivit : « Je tiens à vous informer que je suis, premièrement, citoyen des États-Unis, deuxièmement, secrétaire d'État, et seulement en troisième lieu, juif. »  
Ce à quoi Golda Meir répondit : « Chez nous, en Israël, on lit de droite à gauche. »
