The Standard-Bearer, The Monstrous Sow, Christ Taking Leave of His Mother, The Virgin with the Pear, Saint Jerome in His Study. The exhibition of Dürer's engravings at the State Historical Museum makes a very powerful impression. And, incidentally, unlike many critics, I have no quarrel with the architecture of the display: a great deal of careful thought has gone into it, even if it has not been fully explained to the public. The exhibition runs until 28 June, and it is decently attended, but I advise you to make an effort to see it. Firstly, many works from the domestic collection are being shown for the first time; secondly, the foreign ones, from the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, will heaven knows when find themselves in Russia again. Thirdly, Dürer is magnificent. His Apocalypse series alone is worth the journey!
