The exhibition “The French Taste of the Princes Yusupov” at the New Jerusalem Museum offers a rare opportunity to trace the history of French painting as assembled by a single collector, Prince Nikolai Borisovich Yusupov (1750-1831), Director of the Armoury Chamber. The Yusupov collection is famous the world over, yet many of the 37 works on show are very seldom to be seen, so the exhibition is not to be missed, and it runs all the way to August 2022.

In the photographs, in order: “Apollo and Daphne” by Jacques Dumont; “The Frightened Bather” by François Boucher; “Cupid and Psyche” by Augustin Bernard; “The Sacrifice of Iphigenia” by Jean Tassel; “Ruin and Column”, “Ruins and Bridge”, “Fountain and Pyramid”, “Ruins by the Water” by Hubert Robert; “Landscape with Fishermen” by Pierre Jacques Volaire; “Portrait of the Kolosov Brothers” by Nicolas de Courteille
