The library's collection comprises more than 82,000 manuscripts and 1.6 million printed books, among them more than 8,000 incunabula, books printed before 1501\. Its holdings include such treasures as Botticelli's illustrations to the Divine Comedy and the only almost completely preserved copy of Cicero's Republic.

More than 18,000 of the library's manuscripts have already been digitised. All of them are available on the library's official website, [DigiVatLib](https://digi.vatlib.it/?ref=theparnassian.com)
