In the sculpture courtyard of the A.V. Shchusev Museum of Architecture, the open restoration of the memorial monument with the bust of Catherine II, created by the sculptor Vasily Ivanovich Demut-Malinovsky in 1834, has come to an end.

The monument is an allegorical sculptural group on a single granite pedestal. The centre of the composition is a bronze bust of Catherine II in the guise of the Roman goddess of wisdom, Minerva, set upon a plinth. To the right, the figure of the Roman goddess Pax, the personification of peace, leans against the pedestal. The goddess's head is adorned with a wreath; in her left hand she holds a sceptre, while with her foot she tramples a serpent coiling at the base of the pedestal.
