A False Floor Goes Up in the Sistine Chapel, and Then We Shall Be Told: Heaven forbid, no under-the-carpet manoeuvres!

The floor of the Sistine Chapel has been covered with a protective layer, and a platform is being erected on top of it to serve as a second level of flooring, in order to protect the historic surface while the conclave sits in the chapel. Or could it be, perhaps, for some other purposes after all?
