# An inspiring spring exhibition, "Larionov / Goncharova

An inspiring spring exhibition, "Larionov / Goncharova. The Beginning", has opened at the Pushkin Museum. It is the first to explore the earliest, pre-avant-garde period in the work of two outstanding figures, a couple of Russian art.

The thoroughly Impressionist pastels and drawings by Larionov and Goncharova from the first half to the middle of the 1900s are mostly being shown for the first time, and some of them with a new attribution.

Alongside fifty or so early works by Mikhail Larionov and Natalia Goncharova from the collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, there are complementary works by Claude Monet, Paul Signac, Édouard Vuillard, Henri-Edmond Cross and other European masters. In contrast to the Europeans, works by Larionov's and Goncharova's teachers at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture are also on show: Leonid Pasternak (a nude), Konstantin Korovin and Valentin Serov.

The exhibition is housed in the small Room 31.
