# A chamber display of Alexander Ivanov's drawings opens in the main building of the Tretyakov Gallery, which holds the greater part of his legacy

A chamber display of Alexander Ivanov's drawings has opened in the main building of the Tretyakov Gallery, which holds the greater part of his legacy. The gallery's collection includes more than 700 separate sheets by Ivanov and 40 albums. The exhibition is in the room next to the main Alexander Ivanov hall, where "The Appearance of Christ Before the People" hangs. Among the exhibits is a sketch of the artist's attic studio in Rome, which shows how modestly he lived in Italy
