# In Krasnoyarsk, an airport and the state opera and ballet theatre are named after Dmitri Hvorostovsky

In Krasnoyarsk, an airport and the state opera and ballet theatre are named after Dmitri Hvorostovsky. At this theatre Dmitri Hvorostovsky was a soloist from 1985 to 1990\. Krasnoyarsk is Hvorostovsky's native city: here he studied at a music school and in the music department of a teacher training college, and later in the vocal faculty of the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts, which now also bears Hvorostovsky's name, and a monument to the outstanding opera singer stands at the institute.
