The Museum of the Defence of Moscow holds a Group Portrait of the Descendants of A.S. Pushkin Who Took Part in the Great Patriotic War, 1957, by the retired lieutenant colonel Vladimir Pereyaslavets. Not all of Pushkin's descendants who served in the war are gathered in the portrait: the Danilevskys, Pisnyachevsky, Klimenko, the Michaels, Werner and the Vorontsov-Velyaminovs are absent, but the work is a very interesting one. The great-grandson and great-great-grandsons (by Alexander Alexandrovich) Grigory Grigoryevich Pushkin and the brothers Alexander and Oleg Vsevolodovich Kologrivov, the great-great-great-grandsons (by Vera Alexandrovna) Boris and Sergey Borisovich Pushkin (who, incidentally, are also Görings, though of the Görings who have lived in Russia since the eighteenth century) and the great-great-grandson Sergey Yevgenyevich Klimenko: these men never gathered in such a company, and the portrait is an artistic invention, so it might well have been more crowded, holding as many as 13 of the poet's descendants who were veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
