In what do earthworms surpass the most advanced neural networks? Is humanity ready for long space journeys? What is the difference between the male and the female brain? This rather unexpected set of questions was discussed yesterday, under the attentive moderation of Kira Altman, at the first event of the season from Ultima Yandex Go, in partnership with A-Club, devoted to man and space.

As for space outside, from preparation for flights and the spiritual experience of encountering open space, to surgical operations in weightlessness and the latest data on the effect of cosmic radiation on health, it was covered expertly yet accessibly by Sergey Ryazansky, the world's first scientist-spacecraft commander, a test cosmonaut by profession and a virologist by training, Candidate of Medical Sciences.

As for space within, that is, inside the human psyche, which takes in the plasticity of the brain from the standpoint of evolutionary biology, the effect of stress on the brain's work, the link between emotional involvement and the capacity to learn, and the likeness of the biological brain to artificial intelligence, it was the neurobiologist Vyacheslav Dubynin, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor in the Department of Human and Animal Physiology at the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University, who spoke of these matters with great humour.
