A new version of "The Three Musketeers" will appear in 2025, with women as the musketeers and d'Artagnan.

The synopsis runs thus: when Sarah, a young girl on the run, discovers that the three musketeers protecting the Queen of France are in fact women, she decides to flee with them and follow their example in order to become free...

The film was made by Houda Benyamina, a French woman director of Moroccan origin, with her younger sister Oulaya Amamra in the lead role. Of the key four, only one is a white European: the Greek-Belgian actress Daphne Patakia.

Well, Alexandre Dumas remains one of the most frequently adapted authors, and invariably with success; we shall see whether the box office for this adaptation proves a happy one.
