The value of the treasures stolen from the Green Vault in Dresden is estimated at a billion dollars. Naturally, the stolen objects have no market price, but this is all the same one of the most audacious museum robberies of recent years. It has already been established that three sets of jewels were taken: one of brilliants and two of diamonds, including bejewelled sabres, buckles, order stars, epaulettes, necklaces, brooches, pendants and other items. Of the treasures shown in the photographs, only those marked with a green background remain safe; they were fortunate enough to be elsewhere. One of the richest museums in Europe was robbed on Monday: the criminals set fire to an electrical switchboard connected to the museum's power supply, and only jewels were taken, while the paintings and other objects were left untouched
