On J.K. Rowling: her remark was perfectly normal, and society's reaction was utterly cretinous. I know this sanctimonious society well, and I have more than once seen it destroy authors. And this boy, Radcliffe, whom she dragged out of obscurity, dared to rise up against her.

As for separating the author's personality from the work: how is one to regard Tsvetaeva's poems after learning that she was a veritable monster?
