A symbol of awakening from darkness to light, of vigilance and of the protection of Paris, the golden cockerel crowning the spire of Notre-Dame de Paris holds a fragment of Christ's Crown of Thorns, as well as relics of Saint Geneviève and Saint Denis. The relics survived the fire of 2019.
