Today marks 20 years since the death of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. I remember the day she died as if it were yesterday, and I grieved very deeply. She truly held a quite special place in the hearts of many. The pain was comparable only to the loss of Princess Diana and to the moment when the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna was not reunited with Anastasia. Perhaps these feelings did much to shape my interest in royal destinies
