I had only two photos from "Batman vs Brezhnev" at the Teatr na Bronnoy in my stories (yes, yes, I never break the rules and do not film during a performance), but even that was enough to bring a barrage of questions: a Batman projection on the stage curtain, seriously? What is that Soviet furniture set, is this about Gorbachev? Of course, it is far from being "Gorbachev" at the Theatre of Nations, and on the surface Sasha Denisova's play struck me as rather weak, but the production itself is remarkably coherent, confident and agreeable. Firstly, I have not laughed so heartily in ages; secondly, it is wonderful that questions ring out from the stage about the departure of the eternal, tiresome old man who does nothing but protest that he is not Stalin; thirdly, the warm and lively game of Soviet thriller recalls the former hopelessness, after which a rainbow did, in the end, shine in the sky. As for Olga Lapshina in the role of Brezhnev and the inimitable undertaker behind the skirting board, Alexander Semchev, they gathered in whole baskets of ovations with nearly every appearance. I intend to go a second time, with my mother, although in fact the tickets are already sold out
