Yuri Savelyevich Zlotnikov (1930-2016) was the creator of a unique abstract painting that crossed the achievements of the avant-garde with the scientific and technical aesthetics of the post-war years.

The exhibition will present previously unexhibited works from three series: "Signal System" (1957-1962), "Biblical Cycle" (1965-1980) and "Abstraction" (1980-1990). The works, executed in painting on paper, demonstrate the transformation of Yuri Zlotnikov's plastic language. If the "Abstraction" series expresses the experiments formulated in "Signal System", revealing the dynamics and statics of form and colour on a plane, then the "Biblical Cycle" marks a transition to an analysis of the narrative of Sacred History, where lines, patches and all the elements of Zlotnikov's pictorial alphabet are joined into a transcendent space.

A unique opportunity to see the work of a solitary Soviet artist who left a notable mark on the country's artistic life
