Reading a person's character from the look of the hair, after a book of 1765\. To my mind, it all holds together, and the science is the more exact for being ancient

White hair shows a cold nature.

If the hair goes grey before its time, it signifies great sorrow.

Ashen hair shows a kind and meek person.

Whitish-yellow hair is the mark of an unlearned head.

Yellow hair is possessed by brave people.

Red hair betokens an angry and cunning person.

Light brown and not coarse hair belongs to people of deep thought, justice and fidelity.

Blackish hair belongs to the choleric-melancholic.

Black, thin, coarse hair: good manners, eloquence and fury.

Black, thin, fine hair: haughtiness, obstinacy.

Black curly hair: a tendency to anger, and nimbleness.

Wholly curly hair: cunning and deceitfulness.

Hair curly at the tips: bravery, manliness and wisdom.

Thick, coarse hair: wildness, obstinacy, a tendency to melancholy.

Sparse, thin hair on a head with a blemish belongs to cunning, malicious and furious people.

Hair standing on end like bristles, and a very shaggy body: a hot nature, insolence, obstinacy and intractability.

Soft hair belongs to timorous people, like the deer, the hare, the sheep and the rabbit.
