# Since we are speaking of luxurious interiors today, here is another, in Ulyana Sergeenko's new "Orient Express" boutique

Since we are speaking of luxurious interiors today, here is another, in Ulyana Sergeenko's new "Orient Express" boutique. There is a great deal of polish and lacquered surface, magnificent work with veneer, combined with generous draping in velvet and vintage lighting: Murano chandeliers and vintage Art Deco sconces alike. I love Ulyana for her attention to detail and her fidelity to a noir-aristocratic aesthetic rich in interesting quotations. Not some single "Great Gatsby," but whole mosaics of allusions to old Hollywood pictures, vivid characters and events of the society life of the first half of the twentieth century. The result is a very coherent and independent statement about fashion, yet one that is always in dialogue with art and history
