After the death of Prince Philip, three members of the royal family have received new titles. The Queen is henceforth Dowager Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Charles has inherited his father's titles and becomes Duke of Edinburgh, and Camilla becomes Duchess of Edinburgh. The Queen, of course, will not use the new title, though it will remain attached to her. Just as in Philip's lifetime she was not styled Duchess of Edinburgh, although she was one. The Queen holds a great many titles ranking below that of monarch, yet they belong to her without being used. The dukedom of Lancaster, for example. Likewise, Prince Charles will not use the new title. Accordingly, Camilla will continue to be styled Duchess of Cornwall.
