So this is the sorry state of the rear façade of the once-famous palace of Count Kirill Grigoryevich Razumovsky, built in the 1780s. To a design by Bazhenov, or by Kazakov, or by someone else altogether.

The view of the opposite façade, facing Vozdvizhenka, is blocked by the Kremlin Hospital, built in the 1920s. The side wing runs along Romanov Lane.

The building is under the authority of the polyclinic and on the books of the Presidential Administration. It has stood empty for a long time.

The photograph shows precisely the rear of the main building of the estate, an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. A melancholy sight. One wonders what is inside, whether there are Neoclassical interiors like those of the Kuskovo palace. A disgrace, this.
