One of Moscow's most beautiful churches is the Church of the Hieromartyr Clement, Pope of Rome, in Zamoskvorechye, built in 1762\. It is a great pity that the interior has undergone a reconstruction-style restoration, but this does not diminish the grandeur of the decoration. In Soviet times the building served as a repository for the Lenin Library, so the church got off rather lightly
