The current head of the House of Habsburg, the grandson of Austria's last emperor, Charles I, 60-year-old Archduke Karl von Habsburg-Lothringen, has commented on the scandalous interview given by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, speaking to Austria's largest newspaper, the [Kronen Zeitung](https://www.krone.at/2360968?ref=theparnassian.com). He described Harry and Meghan's interview as gossip and rubbish, also drawing attention to how far down the line of succession they stand. The accusations voiced Karl called entirely unacceptable. The Archduke further remarked that if problems and disagreements have arisen in private life, it would be more fitting to discuss them privately. Such a media presentation he does not regard as a serious subject, and he adds that the American television host Oprah Winfrey is merely stirring up domestic gossip, which leaves no reason to return to the matter.
