# Church of Saint-Roch in Paris, linked to Anne of Austria, in poor condition

A church founded in the sixteenth century and rebuilt in the seventeenth under royal patronage. Anne of Austria herself appeared with the infant Louis XIV at the laying of the foundation stone of the new building. Here, in one of the largest churches in Paris, funerals were held for Annie Girardot and Saint Laurent, yet today the ground around it presents a melancholy sight: steps littered with cigarette ends, a shabby entrance, torn upholstery on the doors... Perhaps it is time to apply to the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church for financial assistance
