# Max Gazzè performs at Sanremo as Leonardo da Vinci with a song about a pharmacist

Leonardo da Vinci has appeared on the stage of the annual Italian Sanremo Music Festival. The extravagant Max Gazzè [turned up](https://youtu.be/MTM48g400Zk?ref=theparnassian.com) in a rather convincing Leonardo get-up, accompanied by a cardboard orchestra of eminent figures from world pop culture, from Elizabeth II at the drums to Paul McCartney on bass. The performance makes one smile: the droll, naive manner and the simplest of choreography recall the modest old variety tradition of the 1950s and 60s. The song is Il farmacista, that is, "The Pharmacist", and it is no accident that he has dressed as Leonardo, anatomist, naturalist and one of the founders of modern scientific method. The lyrics are evidently devoted to the AstraZeneca vaccine. The words are simple, about some alchemical recipes, a powder of love and two sachets of green tea, a list of actually existing drugs, and then, my love, no contraindications whatever, there is nothing to worry about, you will be rid of your ailment, it is magic and a miracle, my biochemical potion
