# New Stage of Reconstruction Begins on Foreign Ministry Skyscraper on Smolenskaya Square in Moscow

Moscow City Hall has announced a new stage in the reconstruction of one of the seven famous Stalinist high-rises, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building on Smolenskaya Square. The façades of the central tower and of the 16-storey wings will be cleaned, the roof repaired and the plinth re-clad. The most pleasing part is the restoration of the historical appearance of the building's windows and doors, as well as of some of the historical interiors. The work will continue until 2030.
