The Rok film studio has unveiled a project for a new film, “Family Happiness”, after Leo Tolstoy’s novel of the same name, to be realised by the young director Stasya Tolstaya (Venkova), wife of a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Lev Nikolayevich. This was reported by the studio’s artistic director and director Alexey Uchitel.

Uchitel stressed that the project will not simply transfer the content of the novel to the screen, but will be built in an interesting way, with the participation of an outstanding cast. Among the performers of the leading roles are Yevgeny Tsyganov and Yevgeniya Leonova, for whom this work will be a film debut. The already edited film is at the post-production stage.

Uchitel himself has begun work on a picture, “The Noise of Time”, about the composer Dmitry Shostakovich. The entire cast of the film has already been approved, but the name of the actor in the lead role is not yet known. The premiere is scheduled for 2026.
