In 1943 Timofey Vasilyevich was carried off by the Germans from the town of Shakhty, after which the Mother of God appeared to him and told him to go west, whence he never returned. In Vienna he was not permitted to build a church, whereupon came a sign to press on to Munich. He raised a small house and a chapel right there on the tip and quite quickly became a local landmark; he was even visited by the Queen of Sweden. When the tip was cleared in the 1960s, the extraordinary house and church were left standing, and today there is a museum there. A unique story, to be sure.
