The Church of St Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra in Pyzhi. Splendid, solemn, richly appointed. One of the most remarkable churches of Zamoskvorechye. Look at those charming kokoshniks, at the naive brick decoration. I love this church dearly: the seventeenth century gave Moscow its most precious, its most characteristically Russian architecture
