Julio Peña plays Miguel de Cervantes. The action unfolds in 1575, and the narrative draws on the real biography of the author of *Don Quixote*.

As attentive readers will remember, many years before he wrote the greatest novel of all time, Cervantes was a captive of Algerian pirates. Saavedra recounts part of the story of that captivity in *Don Quixote*, and it is this episode, and this period of his life, that Amenábar's film is devoted to.

For the first time in several years, I can hardly wait to see a film.

I shall certainly share my impressions and write a review. We remain in touch.
