*So, what became of the treasures of Notre-Dame de Paris? What has survived?*

**The Holy Crown of Thorns**

It came to France as a gift to Louis IX in 1238\. The Crown of Thorns, with several thorns removed (and dispatched to various corners of the world), is kept in a vessel of rock crystal.

**The North Rose Window**

One of the largest stained-glass windows, the great rose on the north façade of Notre-Dame, was not damaged.

**The Great Organ**

The organ, made up of 8,000 pipes, was saved. Built in 1403, it still contains several medieval pipes.

**The Tunic of Saint Louis**

The linen tunic of the 13th century is believed to have belonged to Louis the Saint (canonised in 1297).

**The Descent from the Cross sculpture**

One of the central statues from the altar of Notre-Dame. The sculpture has survived, but its condition is unclear.
