# Jacques Chirac suddenly speaks English in Israel, although he usually used an interpreter

Speaking of the French and the English language, one might recall François Hollande or Jacques Chirac, who took a master's degree in the United States and naturally knew the language perfectly well, though I have heard his pronunciation criticised. In reply I offer this [footage](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp69ttBSY1Q&ref=theparnassian.com), famous in its day: in Israel, in highly unpleasant circumstances, Chirac, who always spoke only through an interpreter, even when visiting the States or England, suddenly said in English: What do you want, me to go back to my plane and back to France?
